A new gaming sensation has taken hold of residents in Madagascar’s capital Antananarivo. Gazkar – a 3D car racing game developed locally by the Lomay Studio in Antananarivo has got everyone talking about the future mobile game development in Madagascar.

A team of about 15 programmers, graphics developers and designers spent several hours coming up with the concept and design of Gazkar.

The scenes of the game take place in the main streets of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, at the wheel of cars that one meets daily. The game puts forward 26 cars and 70 tracks and so far has received about 10,000 downloads.

Orange Madagascar’s Support for Gazkar

Over the past couple of years, Orange Madagascar has offered tremendous support for local entrepreneurs and developers. They’ve embarked on the democratization of the use of internet on mobile by making available to the Malagasy smartphones efficient and affordable.

By supporting Lomay Studio for the development of Gazkar, Orange Madagascar’s objective is to accelerate the provision of services to Orange customers.

The firm thus assumes its status as a responsible company. The support of Orange Madagascar is manifested by the technical and financial contributions needed to launch the game in the best conditions.

According to Matthieu Rabehaja, co-founder of Lomay Studio with Haikajy Mag, he explained the inspiration behind the game;

It was during a show at the Carlton in November 2014 that we gave the public an overview of the gameplay. Having seen the interest of people in relation to this overview, the concept of Gazkar was born: a Malagasy racing game in a purely Malagasy decoration. It will be available on different platforms: Android, iPhone, but also on PC.
