I’ve always been a great fan of Mensa Ansa a.k.a M3NSA back in days when he did the “Mapouka” track with Hip-Life Grand-papa; Reggie Rockstone.
His energy and passion for music really made him one of the most respected and talented musicians from Ghana. I saw his teaming up with Wanlov the Kubolor as step in the “rightest” direction and I’m so glad, I wasn’t disappointed.

FOKN Bois = @MensaMusic & @Wanlov

The two multi-talented and unique musicians (Wanlov the Kubolor; a truly refreshing artist who travels the world barefoot wearing his trademark of wrap skirt and the Channel “O” multi-nominated Mensa Ansa; a singer/songwriter/producer, one of the most respected Hip-life pioneers today) are about take the Ghanaian Film Industry by a great storm with their first ever Pidgen Musical Film; “Coz Ov Moni” [trans: Because Of Money].
Pidgen language is the;

de facto language used whenever West Africans congregate as it transcends language barriers. It is sometimes expressed as Broken English [former English colonies] or Creole [former French colonies] across the Globe.

“Coz Ov Moni” is the story of an extraordinary day in the life of two ordinary young men in a 21st century African country, Ghana. Expressed entirely in music and rhyme, the film captures the exuberance, energy and rhythm of the urban African, using choreography and color to enrich the story in great detail.
This film takes an innovative approach; that is combining the lyrical art of the wordsmith with art house cinematography, giving it an unprecedented dynamic intensity as the audience is spun into a web of comedy, dramatic action and dance.
Earlier this March, 2010; Ghanaian blogger Kajsa H.A. did a post entitled; “Coz Ov Moni feat. Wanlov the Kubolor and M3nsa”, in which she emphasized on how a funky song totally blends in with almost rhythmical filming to the extent that she was thinking; “can this really be the first pidgen musical?” Well, I guess it just fits so well!
