Jambo Spaces receives a €20,000 French Embassy grant via Creation Africa to empower Ghana’s growing creative and cultural industry sectors.
This significant award, presented by the French Embassy in Ghana, marks a new chapter for the Accra-based hub. As Ghana’s first digital creator hub and incubator, Jambo Spaces was selected among 15 beneficiaries from a competitive pool of over 600 applicants. This funding is part of a broader effort to transform local creativity into a sustainable economic force.
The Creation Africa Ghana (CAG) initiative is a pioneering program designed to support entrepreneurs within the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). By providing intensive training, mentorship, and financial resources, the initiative helps visionaries scale their ventures globally.
Led by the Cultural and Cooperation Department of the French Embassy, the program emphasizes the importance of a “new partnership” between France and Ghana. This collaboration focuses on sectors such as fashion, music, audiovisual production, and digital arts, ensuring Ghanaian talent has the infrastructure needed to compete on the world stage.
Expanding the Africa Digital Creator Academy
The founders of Jambo Spaces: Bernard Kafui Sokpe, Therese Jones, and Natasha Mann-Dedey, plan to use the €20,000 grant to launch the Africa Digital Creator Academy. This project aims to be West Africa’s first official training ground dedicated specifically to aspiring digital content creators.
Jambo Spaces is Ghana’s first digital creator hub and incubator located in Accra. It provides co-working spaces, music and podcast studios, and resources to help African youth monetize their creativity.
In addition to the academy, the funds will be used to:
-
Upgrade Equipment: Investing in high-end cameras, microphones, and editing tools for the music and podcast studios.
-
Enhance Mentorship: Bringing in international experts to train local youth on monetization and brand building.
-
Facility Expansion: Developing specialized “creator zones” within their East La and Accra location.

Impact on Ghana’s Creative Ecosystem
The success of Jambo Spaces highlights the shifting landscape of work in West Africa. By providing both physical and digital support, the hub addresses the challenges faced by creative professionals who often lack access to reliable internet, professional-grade equipment, and business networks.
This grant validates their mission. It also provides capital to create long-term jobs in the digital economy. By providing a physical support system, the hub solves major hurdles. Creators now have access to reliable internet and professional equipment.
