Meet Kevin Doe – 15-year-old Sierra Leone Whiz Kid

Meet Kelvin Doe aka Dj Focus, a 15-year-old self-taught hardware hacking whiz-kid from Sierra Leone who was given the chance to visit and study at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)  by David Moinina Sengeh after he run a summer innovation camp in Sierra Leone.
The video below shows highlights from the Innovation Camp in Sierra Leone and Kevin’s visit to MIT Campus in Massachusetts.

Kelvin’s story is very admirable and remarkable – this goes to show that innovation can spring from anywhere.  Kelvin’s drive to teach himself electronics and help his community by reverse-engineering radios, generators and other devices from what 99.9% of the population would consider trash is a moving reminder of that fact.
