Ghanaian Fintech Startup, BitSika Expands into Cameroon

BitSika, Ghana's "Cash App" has expanded its services and app to customers in Cameroon, users can send and receive money from their friends and families.

BitSika, Ghana’s “Cash App” has expanded its services and app to customers in Cameroon, users can send and receive money from their friends and families.

BitSika, a leading African crypto remittance service in Ghana, has opened up the service and app to customers in Cameroon.

Users in Cameroon will now be able to access Cameroonian / XAF features and be able to make deposits and withdrawals on an XAF balance account using MTN and Orange Mobile Money.

Cameroonians will be able to make transactions in XAF making it quite efficient for everyday P2P transactions. Some of the features that come with BitSika for Cameroon users include:

  • Users can send money to another BitSika user via their $Username or spend it on other things
  • Send up to $300 XAF for free before you start paying
  • Buy and top-up virtual debit cards with your XAF balance

The company intends to add airtime and bill payments later in the year for Cameroon. Users in Cameroon are advised to download or update the BitSika app and verify their identity with a Cameroon number.

In 2020, BitSika processed nearly $40 million and had over 95, 000 registered users on the platform while also bringing on board the popular Nigerian artists, Davido, as one of its investors.

BitSika remittance service currently serves the Ghana-Nigeria remittance corridor.
