Ghanaian rapper and hip-life musician Obrafour to facilitate a workshop at ACCES 2019 scheduled for November 30 in Accra, Ghana.
Renowned Ghanaian rapper and hiplife musician Obrafour will on 30 November facilitate a workshop at the three-day Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES) in Accra, Ghana.
The award-winning artist will be part of the pan-African trade event’s Music Production Essentials workshop alongside Kofi ‘IamBeatMenace’ Boachie-Ansah (Ghana), where he will share his knowledge about recording and useful production tools with aspiring producers.
The Music Production Essentials workshop will begin a day earlier when Kofi ‘IamBeatMenace‘ Boachie-Ansah will be joined by fellow countryman, producer, and songwriter Panji Anoff.
Obrafour is the latest big name to be announced ahead of ACCES 2019, which will also host about 80 speakers including musicians Akon (US/Senegal),
Obrafour made a grand entrance onto the music scene 20 years ago with his debut album Pae Mu Ka, which earned him superstardom in his home country. It also earned him three Ghana Music Awards in 2000.
Obrafour started penning his own rhymes before engaging in neighbourhood freestyle sessions. A trio consisting of himself, Asante, and his cousin Impulse was soon formed but broke up soon after. Obrafour later formed another group together with comrades Ashes and Shaggy. Together, they would continue to honing their rap skills and solidifying their underground reputation.
Obrafour’s natural charisma, versatile style, markedly unique flow, instantly familiar and sentimental melodies, as well as poetic wizardry over rich Twi courted fondness across generations. With ‘Pae Mu Ka‘, he becomes the bridge between a high life-loving older demography and a younger one engrossed in the urban craze.
To date, he has released nine studio albums. He has performed in Europe and the US and has featured on a number of songs by such artists as Tic Tac, Daasebre Gyamenah and Nana Quame.
