Rwandan software development firm Exuus has emerged the winner of last Friday’s Seedstars Kigali pitching event.
Kigali-based Exuus has developed a digital and inter-operable decentralized ledger for saving groups. The startup was founded in 2014 by CEO Shema Steve (pictured above, middle).
Exuus will now represent Rwanda at the Seedstars Africa summit which will be held in Johannesburg in December 2019, where the startup will get a chance to win a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland.
Exuus main objective is it achieve universal financial inclusion by leveraging the power of collective saving. They plan on using their software to fix the financial exclusion and inadequate access to credit and broader financial services to the general public.
Seedstars Kigali 2019
In all nine startups pitched at Seedstars Kigali event on September 13, 2019 at the Westerwelle Startup Haus Kigali.
Talent matching platform Bag Innovation came second, while Hatch Plus, startup that has developed a solar-powered smart egg incubator that incubates and hatches up to 30 000 eggs into chickens at a time came third.
Continuing on its world tour of fast-growing startup scenes in emerging markets, Seedstars World’s next stop is the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) at Ingenious City on Wednesday, September 18 to select the best startup in the country at the Seedstars Kinshasa pitching event.
