Former President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma has joined Twitter, posting a video on the social media platform explaining his reasons for doing so.
His twitter account is: @PresJGZuma.
Zuma, who on Thursday was ordered by the high court in Pretoria to pay back millions of rand of taxpayer money used to fight corruption charges against him, said in the Twitter video that he had decided to “move with (the) times to join this important area of conversation because I hear that many people are talking about me…”

He said it felt it was “necessary to join in and be part of the conversation and join the people in their discussions”.
Within an hour of posting the video, Zuma tweeted again, this time to alert Twitter users about a scammer who was using the ex-president’s name to raise funds. “This is false,”
Zuma wrote in response to a tweet from someone calling for people to deposit money into a Capitec bank account.
