The world’s largest online video-sharing platform – YouTube, launched its localized platform for the Ghanaian community at an impressive event at the Citizen Kofi Entertainment Center yesterday.
The platform which allows users to upload, share, and view videos is using this new platform to promote content that is most relevant to Ghanaians.
From the Google Africa blog:
Today, we are delighted to announce the launch of www.youtube.com.gh, a version of YouTube that will give Ghanaians an easy way to discover local content and content producers. From today, when Ghanaian users visit the Ghana domain, they will instantly see the most popular videos in Ghana, as well as videos that are most relevant to them.
We have partnered with local content producers and broadcasters like the Multimedia Group and Pidgen Music to bring a more diverse mix of Ghanaian content to YouTube, and we’re looking forward to seeing more Ghanaian videos online.
Is your Internet connection speed making you wait a long time to watch videos? Don’t worry, we have a solution! Try the lighter low-bandwidth version of YouTube called YouTube Feather at www.youtube.com/testtube. With this, you will still have a good video experience.
